I am Dean Kapcala, a Canadian editorial cartoonist I draw for papers in Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan and of course always looking to add more.
I think I started looking at and collecting polictical cartoons when I was pretty young. I didn't understand the issues but I liked
the big drawings in the newspapers.... everyday a new one. I still have some of the those old clippings, my favorites are by
Edd Uluschak of the Edmonton Journal and Roy Peterson of the Vancouver Sun.
I was truely bitten by the editoral cartooning bug in grade 7, when a cartoon I drew about violence in hockey "turn at the blue line and fire" was published in the Medicine Hat News. I generally work pen and ink using detailed cross-hatched work. I have been contributing to various papers and publications since high school and college.
As well as the newspapers, my work has often appeared in Alberta Pipeline magazine, where I would illustrate the local and provincal Oil and Gas issues. While working at Southeast Alberta Regional Planning Commission, I illustrated graphics for reports, displays and promotions for the Cypress County, County of Newell and County of Forty Mile and their
communities. I've designed Tshirts for a local theatre camp, logos for the Cypress of County, Forty Mile Coulee Park, courtroom sketches and illustrated for local bands, projects, and events.
I guess what I like this web site to do is be an example of my work and what I can offer to anyone looking for cartoons, caricatures, logos, graphics or artwork for personal or bussiness use. If there any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
Thank you

Late night doodles..I call this Guts 3 I've got at least one
more on the go. It's funny cause I really didn't know if I could
produce more than a couple of these. Getting the level of detail
is very time consuming but I don't think I would want to do any less.
Well I've go may 1 or 2 left to do but I don't think I do much more
but who knows. Hope you like them.
